The Karoo 4 develops the proven Karoo 3 concept for adventure motorcycles and maxi-enduros. Its estimated 50% road and 50% off-road balance supports journeys that combine tarmac with demanding unsealed terrain.
- Optimised tread: A patented block arrangement reduces noise and encourages smooth rolling. Transverse blocks add trail traction while retaining road stability.
- Off-road ability: Scoop-shaped blocks bite into soft ground and promote effective self-cleaning, preserving traction at varying lean angles and on firmer surfaces.
- Road handling: A stiffer carcass and multi-radius profiles improve steering control and corner grip regardless of load.
- Wet performance: The pattern is designed for heavy rain, low temperatures and difficult roads; Metzeler internal tests placed its wet braking at the front of the category.
The Karoo 4 is intended for adventure touring across asphalt and challenging off-road sections.
