Dunlop SportSmart Mk4 – hypersport tyre
The Dunlop SportSmart Mk4 is made for sporting road riders who also attend occasional track days. Compared with its predecessor, it improves steering precision, feedback and wet-road traction across a broader range of temperatures, helping the motorcycle remain predictable from the early miles of a ride through to faster, fully warmed running.
- MultiTread (MT) compound: The rear combines a durable centre with softer shoulders for cornering grip. Across the front tread, Dunlop uses the same compound as the rear shoulders to keep response consistent at every lean angle.
- Improved wet traction: Against the SportSmart Mk3, the revised compound delivers 20% more traction on slippery surfaces and 18% more grip on medium-grip roads, while warming faster in cooler conditions.
- Dynamic Front Formula (DFF): Front-profile tuning balances steering accuracy, traction and stability for predictable handling, both when initiating a turn and while holding the chosen line.
- Carcass Tension Control System (CTCS): Carefully managed casing tension optimises the footprint, makes effective use of the compound and promotes an even wear pattern over road mileage.
