Description
Maxxis MAXXVENTURE MA-AT – versatile 70/30 adventure tyre
The MA-AT is intended for riders who cover most miles on asphalt but regularly continue onto gravel, farm tracks and light terrain. Maxxis positions it at approximately 70% road and 30% off road. An all-terrain tread, full-silica compound and stable centre zone balance road manners, mileage and loose-surface traction.
- Large, robust blocks create multiple biting edges for drive and control on gravel, firm soil and unsealed tracks.
- The block arrangement remains composed and predictable on asphalt, making the tyre useful when road and trail sections alternate.
- A stabilised centre limits block movement at speed, improving straight-line precision and road stability.
- The full-silica compound provides wet-asphalt grip while promoting even wear and high mileage.
- Generous tread gaps release earth and gravel effectively, giving the MA-AT useful self-cleaning ability.
- Its 70/30 design sits between road-biased adventure tyres and coarse off-road options, covering tarmac, gravel and moderate unsealed ground.
- For deep mud, very loose sand or demanding enduro passages, a more off-road-focused tyre is appropriate.
- A robust compound and stable blocks are intended to wear evenly over longer tours.
- The stable structure also suits larger adventure motorcycles carrying luggage or extra load.
Depending on tyre size and vehicle approval, examples include Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin and XL750 Transalp, Yamaha Ténéré 700, KTM 790 and 890 Adventure, BMW R 1250 GS and R 1300 GS, Triumph Tiger 900 and Suzuki V-Strom 800DE.
